The gospel is the good news that God saves sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The good news
Jesus brings us into peace with God.
God created us for fellowship with Himself. Every person has sinned and needs the mercy of God. Jesus lived in perfect obedience, died for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and reigns as Lord.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 3:23–24, ESV)
Our response
Turn to Jesus with faith.
Repentance turns from sin toward God. Faith rests in Jesus Christ and receives His saving grace. God gives new life to everyone who calls on the name of the Lord.
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9, ESV)
